People on the Move

Part-time recruitment marketplace Baito.MyNavi.jp is offering a free video interview service to employers. The service is meant to keep Japan’s tight job market moving, while helping employers practice social distancing.

As of publication, Japan had 1,100 confirmed cases of Covid-19.

The interview service is also meant to keep the platform competitive with rivals TownWork.net and Baitoru.com.

Baito.MyNavi is owned by Tokyo-based job site operator MyNavi Corp. The career site lists more than 285,000 part-time job ads across the country.

Online interviews are not new in the Japanese market. Last year, temp-focused HR tech firm Zeku Inc. integrated online interview tools into its recruitment management system to ease burdens on job seekers and employers.
