Hemnet, the leading Swedish property portal, has appointed Rightmove founder and ex-CEO Nick McKittrick to its board of directors.
McKittrick led Rightmove for 17 years and became a well-known name in the industry. Most recently, he served as CEO of Homegate.ch, a leading Switzerland-based property portal. He left that position earlier this year, but as stayed on as a board member.
Hemnet also made several other changes to its board. Henrik Persson, the Kinnevik alumni who now runs Sprints Capital, a London-based investment business, will step down from Hemnet’s board, but will stay on as deputy board manager. He will replace Marta Suarez, a senior associate at General Atlantic, who is leaving the board.
Hemnet is majority-owned by private equity firm General Atlantic. Minority shareholders include Sprints Capital, which holds a 17% stake in the portal, and Swedish real estate industry organization Mäklarsamfundet.
