Morocco-based real estate classified site Mubawab.ma is offering virtual tours of its listings, which it is targeting at both local and international buyers.

The company cited a strong culture of real estate investment in local communities, particularly among Moroccans living abroad.

“Over the past four years, we have seen more Moroccans living abroad buying houses in Morocco without seeing them, especially if they know the neighborhood in question,” said a Mubawab agent who asked to remain anonymous. “Currently, most local buyers are using virtual tours as a selection tool only, but I think we will see more and more of them buying without traveling.”

Like many other real estate portals, the Covid-19 lockdown contributed to the need for virtual tours. To this end, Mubawab launched a guide to help real estate agents adapt to the nature of virtual tours and the post-coronavirus real estate landscape.

With around 2 million visitors per month, Mubawab is the largest digital real estate platform in Morocco.
