Emerging Markets Property Group (EMPG) has announced the first change to its management team since Prosus invested in the company back in April.
Mark Nosworthy was appointed as CEO of EMPG’s operations in Bangladesh and Thailand.
Nosworthy (LinkedIn profile) has been working at the group since April 2017. He previously led operations at EMPG’s property vertical in Bangladesh, BProperty.com. Now, he is also tasked with supervising Kaidee.com, the Thai horizontal recently acquired by EMPG. He also holds a spot on Kaidee’s board.
Naspers-owned Prosus poured $150 million in EMPG back in April, which, led to EMPG taking over OLX’s operations in Egypt, Lebanon, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman, as well as the UAE-based horizontal Dubizzle.
EMPG, which launched in 2005 and is based in Dubai, operates marketplaces in 16 countries, including well-known names like Bayut, Zameen, Lamudi and Mubawab.
