Australia-based Carsales has appointed Mark Cripsey, the former COO of Australian retail giant Myer, as its first chief product and data officer.
Cripsey’s (LinkedIn profile) appointment follows last year’s organizational restructure at Carsales, which saw Ajay Bhatia elevated to managing director of the company’s Australian operations and commercial managing director Simon Ryan depart the business.
Carsales said Cripsey, who was previously an advisor on e-commerce and digital transformation at Bain & Company, was appointed following an “extensive global search.”
“Mark’s experience and expertise will support Carsales’ global nature and help lay the foundations for the company’s long-term success and future growth,” CEO Cameron McIntyre said, according to IT News.
Prior to joining Carsales, Cripsey founded Impact Squared, a management consulting firm focused on “accelerating digital transformation of blue-chip organizations.”
