Chile-based horizontal Yapo.cl recently released data about consumer behavior during the Covid-19 pandemic. The site, which is owned by Adevinta, said consumer goods grew rapidly during the lockdown and that the category now accounts for more than half of its total traffic.

In Q2, the consumer goods category accounted for 56.4% of the horizontal’s total traffic. Yapo said searches for basic items, including masks and hand sanitizer, exploded 1,000% in the first weeks of the pandemic.

Yapo.cl unveiled its analysis 130 days after the country’s first quarantine order and 150 days after the first case was reported in Chile.

Still, the autos category accounted for another 30.1% of Yapo.cl’s total traffic post-Covid, in Q2, and real estate for another 13.5%. The chart below show the proportion of Yapo.cl’s total traffic before (pre-Covid) and post-Covid.
