British vehicle remarketing company BCA has introduced a click-and-collect service for users buying vehicles at auction.

The service allows customers who buy a car at auction to pre-book a collection slot. More than 5,000 buyers used the new click-and-collect service in the two weeks after it was introduced in early August, according to the company. BCA introduced live auction bidding on its buyer app in October and from March 26 all its auctions went to online only to protect customers and staff during Covid-19. The app is free for BCA registered dealers.

Customers using the app complete the online booking process using the ‘My Collections’ portal in the app, which shows vehicles ready for collection and which remarketing location they should be collected from. Buyers choose from dates and times available and book a collection slot and provide details of the driver or transporter who will collect the vehicle.

“With all our selling activity taking place online, BCA have developed this new digital click and collect service to help our buyers plan their vehicle collections efficiently and hassle free,” said Stuart Pearson, the COO of Remarketing at BCA U.K. “BCA customers who use click and collect get to control when they pick up their vehicles and improve efficiency and save time because their vehicles are ready and waiting for them at the pre-booked slot.
