Carsome, Southeast Asia’s largest used-car trading platform, has appointed Benjamin Koellmann as its new COO.

Benjamin Koellmann
Koellmann (LinkedIn profile) isn’t new to the Asia Pacific market. Before joining Carsome, he was e-commerce director at Dairy Farm Group in Singapore.
He also served as a member of Lazada Indonesia’s initial team before leaving to establish HappyFresh Indonesia, the country’s largest online grocery store platform, in 2014.
The decision to bring Koellmann onto the senior management team comes as Carsome is exploring expansion possibilities in the region.
“We are confident that he will be an important contributor as Carsome strives to build trust and assurance throughout the used car industry supply chain,” said Eric Cheng, the CEO of Carsome group.
In his new position, Koellmann is responsible for driving synergy and operating efficiency throughout its operational areas in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore.
“What excites me about joining Carsome is that we are revolutionizing the used car industry and the customer experience through technology, transparency and trust,” stated Koellmann.
Carsome launched its flagship offline store, the Carsome Experience Center, in Kuala Lumpur back in August. This is part of the company’s venture into b-to-c sales. Carsome also recently reported a sharp recovery since reopening businesses last July.
