Zurich-based TX Group (formerly Tamedia) has promoted Yannick Suter to the newly created position of chief data officer.
Suter (LinkedIn profile) will drive the group’s data strategy and develop data handling procedures for the TX data platform. He will be responsible for the entire data-related value chain and will provide support for business intelligence through data mining, data analytics and data science.
Suter has spent the past three years heading the group’s data analytics team, which focuses on data engineering and data science.
Samuel Hügli, head of technology services and ventures at TX Group, said Suter will help the company drive its digital transformation forward.
“I am very pleased to be able to recruit Yannick Suter,” said Hügli. “He is a data expert with a proven track record, and he is thoroughly familiar with the company.”
The TX Group has a wide reach in Switzerland and runs some of the country’s leading classifieds sites and marketplaces, including Homegate.ch. ImmoStreet.ch, Ricardo, CarForYou, and Jobs.ch. Its marketplaces division, TX Markets, saw revenue fall 7% in the first half of 2020 while horizontals, such as Ricardo.ch and Tutti.ch, continued to perform well.
