Singapore tech-based real estate agency Propseller recently reported raising $1.2 million U.S. in seed funding from several investors, including Dot Property founder Ben Neve.

Other investors included Iterative, Hustle Fund, XA Network, Rapzo Capital and Lazada co-founder Stein Jakabo.

The new funds will be used to triple Propseller’s team size and develop its tech capabilities, the company said in a news release. Propseller previously raised $700,000 in December 2018 from Yang Bin Kwok, founder of Zopim; Erwan Mace, founder of Muslim Pro; PJ Vandepitte, Global COO of Foodpanda; Yvan de Rham, former chairman of Sotheby’s International Realty of Switzerland.

Propseller says its technology platform enables transactions to close more quickly, helping with tasks like property valuations and reduces standard commission fees to 1% from 2% because the startup’s in-house agents are able to finish transactions quicker than traditional agencies.

Dot Property operates real estate marketplaces in several Southeast Asian countries, including Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and Singapore, and has long competed with PropertyGuru Group. The reason for the recent funding back may be related to PropertyGuru’s recent $220 million U.S. funding round led by TPG and KKR.
