Opeyemi Awoyemi, the co-founder of Jobberman, West Africa’s largest jobs site, has launched a Nigeria-based niche software developer recruitment startup TalentQL. He and two indegenous entrepreneurs Adewale Yusuf and Sultan Akintunde co-founded the startup to spot and connect local talents to global technology opportunities.

Andela, a pioneer of this niche talent offering, launched in 2014 and has gone on to raise over $100 million from investors with about $50 million in revenue last year. But there remains a large opportunity to plug more local developers to global demand especially as companies in developed markets are looking to reduce expenditure with Covid-19 impact.

Awoyemi went on to pick up a role as a senior product manager with Indeed (U.S) after Ringier Africa acquired his company Jobberman in a merger deal with One Africa Media. Now based in the U.S, he will handle partnerships and client acquisition for TalentQL while Yusuf and Akintunde will actively run the Nigeria-based company.
