The owner of British Car Auctions (BCA), BBD Parentco Ltd., changed its name to Constellation Automotive Group Ltd. late last month, according to documents filed with Companies House.

The low-key name change for BCA’s parent company was not covered by the trade press. But the move means the company will no longer use the BCA Marketplace brand. Constellation executives told the AIM Group BCA did not see a need to publicly announce a name change for its parent company.

The switch means the brands that sit underneath the Constellation Automotive Group Ltd are for buying cars in person from consumers, BCA as the b-to-b business and Cinch for b-to-c transactions.
