Webmotors, a Brazilian automotive vertical, recently launched a campaign to promote electric and hybrid cars. The site, which is owned by Santander and CarSales, will allow individuals to list either electric or hybrid cars for free.
Santander will also offer financing with an interest rate of 0.77% per month in an attempt to encourage hybrid and electric car purchases. It will also finance electric motorcycles.
In Brazil, most cars run on gasoline and ethanol. Most newer cars are “flex,” which means they can use either fuel, but there’s a growing trend in the use of hybrid and electric cars in cities like São Paulo.
Webmotors has over 300,000 listings on its site.
