Michael Luhnen has been appointed chief sales officer at AutoScout24. He will be responsible for the entire sales organization of the AutoScout24 group, which includes the management of the media sales unit.

Luhnen (LinkedIn profile) joins AutoScout24 from PayPal where he was vice president of continental Europe. He spent seven years at the company. He was previously an associate partner at McKinsey & Company in Zurich.

“With his international management experience in digital business areas and his proven sales expertise, Michael Luhnen is a veritable enhancement for AutoScout24. He and his team will continue to accelerate our growth,” said Edgar Berger, CEO of the AutoScout24 group.

Luhnen said he was looking forward to working with AutoScout24 and its partners. “We want to increase their sales success and jointly drive the digitization of the industry forward,” he added.

More than 30 million online users visit AutoScout24 per month, making it one of the largest car marketplaces in Europe. The company works with around 43,000 dealer partners, and has a strong presence in several European countries, including Germany, Italy, France and Austria. In July, the company acquired a majority stake in German leasing marketplace LeasingMarkt.de.
