Electric vehicle and mobility solutions designer and manufacturer Fisker Inc. has signed an agreement with Cox Automotive U.K. and Rivus Fleet Solutions to provide after-sales service for the company when it enters the U.K. market in 2023.
The two companies will provide outsourced services including vehicle delivery, service and maintenance, fleet management, mobile fleet servicing, valuation, trade-in, refurbishment and remarketing. Fisker said the move supports its asset-light and digital-forward business model.
Fisker will open its first U.K. center in London in 2022. The company recently announced a deal with Magna International to co-develop and manufacture the all-electric Fisker Ocean SUV, which is expected in Q4 2022.
“With recent U.K. government announcements related to electric vehicles, we believe Fisker will be well placed and well timed to make significant progress in this important market, supported by Cox and Rivus as essential delivery partners,” said Fisker chairman and CEO, Henrik Fisker.
In September, the U.K. government announced plans to end the sale of new petrol and diesel cars and vans by 2030, ten years earlier than planned.
“Fisker will be an exciting addition to the U.K. market and will be able to take advantage of the full range of physical and digital services we have to support vehicle manufacturers,” said Martin Forbes, president of Cox Automotive International.
