Prosus, the multinational classified / marketplace arm of Naspers, has appointed Prajna Khanna as the group’s new global head of sustainability.
Khanna (LinkedIn profile) is also a VP at Prosus and Naspers Limited. She has two decades of working experience as development communication specialist.
Immediately before joining Prosus, Khanna was heading the corporate social responsibility department of Signify Foundation (formerly Philips Lighting).
She had served as sustainability advisor at ING for five years until October 2015 and communications manager and senior communications officer in the preceding four years.
Khanna did her masters in media studies at Deakin University and is certified in executive education, leadership and transformation from Harvard Business School Executive Education.
“As we strive to improve everyday life for millions of people across the world, we are acutely aware of the environmental and social impact of our business decisions and activities — and we take this responsibility seriously,” said David Tudor, Group General Counsel in a news statement.
“Prajna will lead our efforts to amplify our sustainability agenda, leveraging our resources to scale solutions that make a positive contribution to the communities we serve across the world,” Tudor added.
Prosus is listed on Euronext Amsterdam (AEX: PRX) and has a secondary listing on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (XJSE: PRX). It is majority owned by South Africa-based media group Naspers.
