Bayut & Dubizzle have announced plans to recruit more than 200 people in the UAE and another 200 in Pakistan, Lebanon and Egypt as part of a major expansion across the MENA and South Asian regions.
The UAE based portals, which combined last year as part of a deal between Emerging Markets Property Group (EMPG) and OLX Group to merge their MENA and South Asian operations, said it was committed to developing local talent across the region.
“We are a tech and data-driven organisation that understands the importance of building the local talent pool and developing competencies for new and emerging technologies,” said Suzanne Gandy, HR director at Bayut & Dubizzle, in a press release. “Our focus remains to provide an excellent platform for growth with a work culture that is inclusive, supportive and gives unmatched opportunity for development.”
In June, Bayut-owner EMPG and Dubizzle-owner OLX Group, announced the merger of their MENA and some South Asian assets to form a $1 billion Dubai-based unicorn.
Both Bayut and Dubizzle are operating under the leadership of EMPG, which also manages online classifieds businesses including Zameen in Pakistan, BProperty in Bangladesh, Mubawab in Morocco and Tunisia and Kaidee in Thailand.
The merger has also brought OLX entities in Egypt, Lebanon, Pakistan and several GCC countries into EMPG control.
