Cinch, the British used car platform owned by Constellation Automotive Group (formerly BCA Marketplace), has appointed Robert Bridge as its new chief customer officer (CCO).

Bridge (LinkedIn profile) joins Cinch from Childs Farm, an e-commerce toiletries brand where he served as CEO. In that role, he led the company’s digital transformation. In a career spanning over 20 years, Bridge has held senior marketing positions at Yahoo, where he was responsible for marketing and content in more than 20 countries and Telegraph Media Group where he was chief customer officer.

Constellation Automotive Group’s chairman, Avril Palmer-Baunack, said the appointment is part of the group’s aim to further its “rapid growth” and “extend the reach of the cinch brand across the UK”. In October, Cinch.co.uk pivoted to become one of the world’s first transactional auto marketplaces. It aims to rival online used car marketplace businesses like Cazoo and Carzam.

“I’m extremely excited to join such a dynamic, technology-led, consumer-centric business,” said Bridge.

“At a time when people are evermore online, cinch’s ability to deliver world class digital experiences and enable quality used cars to be bought online and delivered to your door is ground-breaking.”

Last week, Cinch announced a sponsorship deal with Tottenham Hotspur, a Premier League football club. That followed a similar marketing initiative by Cazoo, which sponsors Premier League clubs Everton and Aston Villa.
