In Poland, OLX Group-owned real estate vertical Otodom.pl now allows landlords to verify prospective tenants’ identities, as well as their credit scores before handing over the keys to the premises.

Otodom is offering the service via an open-banking tool created by Simpl.rent. The tool screens tenants using insights into the data collected on their bank accounts and various debt registers.

Otodom’s landlords can use the service from a special website and with a 40% discount from the standard price charged by SimpleRent, which is 79 Polish zlotys ($21.30 U.S.) for a single verification.

The real estate landscape in Poland is dominated by Otodom, which saw 16.9 million visits last month, according to SimilarWeb. Its primary competitors are NNV’s Nieruchomosci-Online.pl and Morizon.pl, which was recently acquired by Ringier Axel Springer in a PLN 66.1 million deal. Domiporta, another competitor, was recently acquired by Auto Centrum for an undisclosed amount.
