Immowelt, which runs some of Germany’s largest property websites, has appointed Sebastian Hofelich as its new chief financial officer (CFO), effective March 1. Immowelt, part of Axel Springer’s classifieds portfolio, is best known for its property portals — Immowelt.de and Immonet.de.
“With Sebastian Hofelich, we were able to recruit our ideal candidate for the position of CFO at Immowelt. With his many years of experience in finance and digital, he will continue to help drive Immowelt’s positive development,” said Stephanie Caspar, president classifieds media of Axel Springer.
Hofelich (LinkedIn profile) has several years of experience in finance and accounting. He was previously an in-house management consultant at BMW Group and CFO and CEO of DriveNow, a car-sharing company. Before joining Immowelt, he was group CFO at Intelligent Apps, which operates a popular ride hailing app in Germany and Austria.
“With Sebastian Hofelich, a very experienced CFO is coming on board, who not only brings experience from the dynamic start-up scene, but also expertise from working in an international group,” said Immowelt’s CEO, Cai-Nicolas Ziegler.
Hofelich will succeed Ulrich Gros, who is leaving Immowelt after 20 years at the company. Gros helped develop Immowelt.de into one of the largest property portals in Germany.
