Cazoo has announced another major sporting sponsorship agreement to promote its brand in the U.K.

The automotive vertical has signed a multi-year agreement to become an official partner of the English Football League (EFL) for an undisclosed amount. The deal is thought to be worth several million pounds.

This gives Cazoo exposure across all 72 professional English football clubs outside the Premier League starting next season. The sponsorship also includes EFL knockout cup competitions in the current season, including the Papa John’s Trophy Finals this weekend and the Carabao Cup and Sky Bet EFL finals, all held at the world famous Wembley Stadium and televised on cable TV.

Although crowds are still excluded from live football, this could change for next season. The 72 clubs attract over 18 million fans to all matches over three separate league divisions each season.

Cazoo already sponsor two sides from England’s Premier League, Aston Villa and Everton. It also sponsors other sports events including three major events on the World Snooker tour which attracts big TV audiences in the U.K. and signed a deal to become principal sponsor of the Rugby League World Cup 2021 which begins in November.

“We are delighted to partner with the EFL who are at the heart of communities across the country. Our partnership with the EFL is a great addition to our other football partnerships with Aston Villa and Everton,” said Alex Chesterman, founder & CEO of Cazoo.

Cazoo has raised £450 million ($628 million U.S.) from investors since its inception in 2019. Recent reports suggest Chesterman is looking at options to float the company on the New York or London stock exchange at a possible valuation of £6 billion.
