Carsome, the Malaysia-based digital automotive company, has appointed Mei Han as CEO of Carsome Certified, the company’s b-to-c arm.

As the CEO of Carsome Certified, Mei will work on integrating the classified’s product, tech and data capabilities. He aims to build Carsome Certified into a full-fledged marketplace.

Han has extensive marketplace experience and has worked the automotive industry for the past 10 years. Before that, Han held roles at several Chinese venture capital and investment banking firms. Prior to his current appointment, Mei was Director of Platform Strategy in Carsome, where he was responsible for product development and business intelligence.

“Mei Han’s new role will act as a further catalyst of Carsome’s growth sprint this year. I am confident that his vast experience will give us a more holistic view of consumer demands in the new norm, on top of strengthening our leadership team to drive regional growth,” said Eric Cheng, Carsome’ CEO.

The company also recently added several additional c-suite staff, including Carsome Certified Director of Operations, Yuan Li Yu and General Manager of Carsome Certified Malaysia, Alan Cheah.

With over $85 million U.S. in funding, including a recent $30 million Series D round in December 2020, Carsome is looking to grow its recently launched b-to-c business across Southeast Asia. The company also recently began collaborating with AEON RETAIL CO., LTD. to launch a new Carsome Experience Centre at one of its malls.
