CarNext, the used car marketplace, has appointed Martin Verrelli as managing director for the German market, the company said Monday. Verrelli is an experienced business development director who has spent most of his career working in the automotive industry for enterprises such as Volkswagen and Seat.

Verrelli joins Carnext from Solera Inc – a company that provides risk management and asset protection software and services to the automotive industry and property insurance marketplace. At Solera, he most recently led the AUTOonline unit and was responsible for its international business development. He has more than 20 years of experience in the German business-to-business and business-to-customer automotive market.

“We see great potential in the German used car market and will focus on growing the business even further and accelerating our online first approach,” said CarNext CEO Grainne McEvoy van Berkum. “We are delighted to announce Martin Verelli as our managing director for Germany. His industry experience and deep knowledge of the online automotive market make him a great asset to our team.”

CarNext is a pan-European online marketplace for high-quality used cars and is part of LeasePlan, a Dutch car leasing and fleet management company. CarNext launched in Germany in 2018 with used car stores found in four German cities. The company offers vehicles that include a complete maintenance history, a 14-day money-back guarantee, home delivery solutions and extensive additional services. The business operates in more than 30 countries.
