This month, used car buyer VavaCars appointed Serdıl Gözelekli as retail director.
With over 17 years of experience, Gözelekli (LinkedIn profile) has served in senior management positions at different organizations in the retail sector.
“We believe that Serdıl will make a big difference with his innovative and dynamic customer-focused perspective,” the company said in a LinkedIn post.
Gözelekli began his career from KapitalNet A.S. as a web application developer and content manager in June 2000. Later, he had worked as a software engineer and project manager at Carrefour from May 2003 to April 2007.
During his decade-long career at Adidas, Gözelekli started as a business analyst and reached the position of business unit director responsible for emerging markets.
Gözelekli was the chief retail officer at Beşiktaş Jimnastik Kulübü until November 2019.
He received a B.S. in Computer Science and Engineering from Yildiz Technical University and an M.S. in Applied Sciences, Engineering Management from Marmara University.
His appointment comes as VavaCars sets its sights on improving consumer experience.
VavaCars buys used cars directly from consumers and offers them to its dealer network. The company operates in Pakistan and Turkey, and is owned by Vitol Group, the world’s largest independent oil trader headquartered in London.
