India-based auto marketplace Droom has appointed Preeti Jain as the new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO).
Preeti Jain (LinkedIn profile) carries a wealth of experience spanning 18 years in verticals such as HR strategy, organizational development, change management, business partnering, compensation and benefits, employee engagement and communications, among other key domains. Jain has had stints in industries such as IT, telecom and semiconductor in the U.S., U.K. and China, among other Southeast Asia nations.
Prior to joining Droom, Jain held the position of Director – Human Resources at Huawei for ten years, leading the business group’s key HR functions and a 4000+ team. Jain has also held managerial positions at semiconductor company Conexant and HFCL, an India-based publicly-traded telecom company.
Droom has a unique recruitment strategy, which includes summer internships for fresh MBA graduates from premier universities like IIM (Indian Institute of Management). The company recently welcomed its class of 2021. Its value proposition as a data science-driven auto marketplace has seen the company recruit many engineers from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).
Droom’s digital-first approach is reflected in the acquisition of Visiolab Ideas, an VR-AR startup specializing in vehicle searching and customer experience. This was preceded by the launch of Germ-Shield service and doorstep delivery for used cars, in response to pandemic circumstances and increased hygiene expectations from customers.
Founded in 2014 and headquartered in Gurugram, Droom boasts over 20,000 dealers and presence in 1,091 cities. The company has expanded to Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, and receives patronage from marquee investors like Digital Garage and Toyota Tsusho Corporation.
