Impress.ai, a Singaporean startup that’s building a chatbot for recruiters, has raised $3 m in a pre-series A funding round led by Summit 29K. Seeds Capital, the investment arm of Enterprise Singapore, also participated in the round.
The AI startup will use the newly raised capital for product development, hiring, and expansion across Australia, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. One of the biggest complaints of job seekers is that employers don’t respond to their requests. However, very often it can be physically daunting for hiring managers to respond to each and every request.
“Moving forward, understanding how to best recruit, utilise and retain talent while working remotely is increasingly becoming a topic of focus. This has resulted in growing business opportunities and interest in how our solution is able to help achieve that,” said Sudhanshu Ahuja, chief executive officer and co-founder of impress.ai.
Launched in January 2017, impress.ai helps recruiters at every stage of the talent acquisition process, from screening to interviewing and shortlisting candidates at scale. The startup said that it has thus far served close to 50 enterprises, including DBS, Singtel, ADB and Ngee Ann Polytechnic.
“The company’s performance amidst the tough global economic climate has proven to us just how robust the concept is, and we are very excited to come aboard for this journey and to build the next generation of recruitment solutions,” concluded Mahtani Bhagwandas, director of Summit 29K.
