British online used car marketplace Carzam has appointed James Buxton as its new chief commercial officer.
Buxton (LinkedIn profile) has joined from Audi U.K. where he spent five years, most recently as head of fleet and before that as sales operations manager and national used car manager. Before that he held senior roles at Nissan, Porsche and in sales management at Sytner Group.
Carzam said the appointment will strengthen its ability to provide customers with an end-to-end buying experience.
“James is another high calibre addition to the Carzam team and knows the used car market inside out,” said Carzam CEO Kirk O’Callaghan.
‘He also possesses in-depth knowledge of the fleet market having most recently been responsible for returning Audi to the number one position in the UK’s fleet market.”
Ahead of starting his new role Buxton said: “The move to online automotive retailing represents a huge opportunity and I firmly believe online only businesses can achieve a significant share of the fragmented used car market.”
Last month Carzam announced that it plans to move into buying used cars as well as selling them by launching a used car buying service similar to the WeBuyAnyCar platform.
