Hong Kong-based Housing Market Group has reinvented its site as a “one-stop-shop” where realtors and consumers can securely communicate about real estate listings for free.

Formerly named Housinger, Housing Market Group is a digital media company that operates more than 100 vertical search sites across property in more than 50 different countries. Today, the group has 150 full-time employees, according to its LinkedIn profile.

“It took two years to build the classified, and another two years for development, because we believe in reinventing the real estate industry. With our search technology, consumers are now in control of the market for the first time,” said Mike Schuett, CEO and founder of Housinger.

According to Schuett, the group’s new emphasis on connecting agents and consumers is beneficial for both parties. Often, listings are sold to marketplace competitors such as Zillow and Trulia, which republish properties featuring other agents’ names–taking profit and credit from the original agents. Housing Market Group’s site will only features the listing agent’s name with office information, so all leads and inquiries will go through in-house agents.

“After 4 years and 52,000 real estate professionals already signed up and upgraded, now the agent and office have total control over their listings; they will not be sold or shared with other marketplaces,” said Schuett.
