British online auto marketplace Cinch has made two senior appointments to strengthen its management team.

The Constellation Automotive Group-owned auto marketplace has recruited Leanne Thames (LinkedIn profile) from BMW to become Cinch’s new operations director. At BMW U.K. her most recent role was as general manager for used car and internal sales. She joined from BMW Financial Services in July 2017, where she worked in a variety of roles from 2008.

At Cinch she will develop Cinch’s customer services, focusing on finance and insurance and building partnerships with dealers, OEMs and leasing companies.

Amy Townshend (LinkedIn profile) also joins Cinch as senior marketing director. Townsend joins from ITV where she helped launch the subscription video-on-demand BritBox service from the BBC and ITV.

Townsend has strong experience in developing brands and leading marketing teams and campaigns for digital businesses. She has also worked for Now TV, Sky Broadband, TalkTalk.

At Cinch, Townsend will be responsible for growing the brand and managing the marketing team and will report to Cinch’s chief customer officer Robert Bridge.

“Leanne is hugely experienced and her industry knowledge will be vital as we look to further our rapid growth and consumer offering,” said Avril Palmer-Baunack, chairman of Constellation Automotive Group.

“Amy will be a great asset to the cinch team in driving the marketing team and its plans, to ensure our continuous success.”

In April, Cinch announced it will recruit 100 new staff for its technology hub based in Manchester.
