In her new job, Ormes is charged with reshaping LinkedIn’s image for the post-pandemic job market.

“In a world where all aspects of work and meaning are being redefined, where the Great Reshuffle is rewiring the professional landscape, we were looking for a leader who understood the unique and critical role Linkedin plays globally to help professionals, companies, and whole economies navigate forward,” the firm’s chief marketing and communications officer Melissa Selcher wrote in a LinkedIn post.

For the past three and a half years, Ormes has worked at the Verizon subsidiary Visible, an all-digital wireless carrier. As chief marketing and growth officer, she oversaw advertising, member marketing, consumer and product insights and more. On her LinkedIn profile, Ormes posted a TV ad she orchestrated for Visible called “The 12 Degrees of Kevin Bacon.”

Before that, she spent six years at YouTube in various roles, ultimately as global head of partner marketing. In that role, she oversaw advertising initiatives on the paid channels YouTube Music, YouTube Red and YouTube TV.

“In Minjae, we found the brilliant combination of a creative and a builder,” Selcher wrote. “She is bold and authentic and understands how to build an ecosystem company at scale.”

Ormes 20-year career has included stops at the ad firms Ogilvy and MXM and a coordination role for the Tribeca Film Institute. Her one experience in recruitment was a nine-month stint filling student seats at the NYU School of Law.
