In the Czech Republic, Vltava Labe Media (VLM) saw its revenue decrease 7% while EBITDA dropped by 16% in FY2020, according to a report on Czech news site Mediaguru.cz.

The company earned CZK 1.9 billion ($91.3 million U.S.) last year, down from $98.2 million in the same period last year. Its EBITDA was CZK 142.7 million ($6.6 million U.S.).

VLM is the second-largest publishing company in the Czech Republic with a 17 percent market share. It is owned by Penta Group, which is a Central European investment fund established in 1994. It mainly operates in healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, retail and real estate development.

Penta is also a minority shareholder in United Classifieds, the owner of several real estate sites in Slovakia. Ringier Axel Springer holds a majority stake in the company.

VLM’s classifieds portfolio includes several leading Czech automotive sites, including TipCars.com, TipCar.cz, Cars.cz and Automix.cz. It also operates the real estate vertical RealCity.cz and horizontal Annonce.cz.
