Jason Chuck (LinkedIn profile), the chief consumer officer of Australia-based property vertical Domain, has stepped down to take on a role at HireUp, a recruitment marketplace for disability support workers.

“It’s a bittersweet moment for me to announce that I recently left my role at Domain and will be making a big shift to follow a personal passion of mine to focus on work that will drive more social impact in the disability sector,” Chuck wrote in a LinkedIn post.

“I am sad to leave Domain and my passion for the property industry, as I’ve made some great friendships and been really proud of my time and work there, seeing the tremendous digital transformation the industry is on.”

No announcement has been made about Chuck’s replacement.

Chuck joined Domain in 2019 and was responsible for all consumer-facing functions of the business, which included overseeing the company’s mortgage, insurance and connections businesses. His role also incorporated the responsibilities of the company’s former chief marketing officer, Melina Cruikshank, after her defection to rival REA Group in 2018.

Prior to Domain, Chuck was previously the co-founder and CEO of Avnu, the tech-enabled agency operated by leading Australian real estate group LJ Hooker. He was also a country manager at Etsy, the VP of international and MD of EHarmony, and the head of marketing at Google Australia and New Zealand — then headed up by Domain boss Jason Pellegrino.

“Domain has such an amazing and caring culture that permeates through all corners of the organization and I’m confident the team is on the right trajectory and strategy to drive some huge wins and massive commercial success over the coming years,” Chuck said.
