Leading Turkish recruitment marketplace Kariyer.net has bought part of candidate evaluation startup Coens.io to improve the process of tech hiring for its clients, its top official told the AIM Group.

“Kariyer.net is aiming to ease the pain of tech recruitment via tools like Coens.io,” said Barış Karadenizli, chief strategy and business development officer.

Coensio launched several months ago to help recruiters shortlist job applicants with data science, BI analysis, frontend and backend development backgrounds. The assessment tests are said to optimize the initial screening process by 88%.

“We believe we can further accelerate Coens.io’s advancement through our established B2B channels and vast B2C reach in Turkey and beyond,” said Karadenizli.

The job site is connected with The Network, a global network of job sites, to exchange data insights.

Kariyer.net has been operating for 22 years now. It’s a subsidiary of a VC firm Ilab Ventures, which also owns and operates auto marketplace Arabam.com and real estate marketplace Emlakjet.com.

While investment number was undisclosed, Karadenizli said this is a minority acquisition in Coens, and Kariyer.net is the only investment party with plans to make investments in the startup in future.

Serving 30,000 companies, Kariyer.net led the recruitment market with 14.8 million monthly visits on average in three months compared to job site Tr.indeed.com, which saw an average 9.1 million, and state-owned Iskur.gov.tr with 6.3 million visits, according to SimilarWeb.
