A leading general classifieds site operating in five African markets Jiji, has announced an extensive rebrand to align with its accelerated company growth, development, and the company’s vision for the future.
Originally launched in 2014 in Nigeria, Jiji grew to become the market leader. In 2019, Jiji also acquired its biggest competitor Olx Nigeria and its sister sites in Uganda, Tanzania, Ghana and Kenya. This has made the group a formidable competitor in the sub-saharan region with over 11 million unique users monthly, 3 million ads and about 2.5 Million buyers monthly.
Speaking on Jiji’s new move, Maksym Golubev, Jiji Kenya’s Country Manager said: “This rename and rebrand represents a significant step in the company’s evolution. We are redefining who we are, driving change, and shaping the future of the e-commerce industry.”
The new design approach has a unique design feature named Ji-spots, representing Jiji’s diversity in its service offerings. Also the rejigged tagline “Because Deals Can Be Easy” emphasises the customer friendly nature of the platform for buying, selling, hiring, renting, and swapping, the company said in a statement.
With 5m plus downloads, Jiji is currently among the most downloaded and highest-rated apps in African online commerce.
