India-based real estate marketplace Clicbrics has added Scott Forbes, chairman of Cars.com and Ascential Plc, to its Board of Directors.

Headquartered in Gurugram, Clicbrics is a b-to-c real estate marketplace specializing in property sales. The company offers virtual tours, home decor ideas, an AI-powered estimation calculator called clicworth, readily accessible relationship managers and a daily dose of local real estate news.

Scott Forbes (LinkedIn profile) boasts commendable experience in senior strategic roles, having previously worked at Cendant, Orbitz Worldwide (acquired by Expedia) and Rightmove, before moving to the role of chairman at auto marketplace Cars.com and media outlet Ascential Plc. Forbes has a proven track record of developing business strategies, heading business transformation and growing brands organically and through mergers and acquisitions.

“Scott’s depth of experience leading digital commerce platforms such as Cars.com and Rightmove will be invaluable to Clicbrics as we expand the range of our offerings to a burgeoning India home hunter and developer community,” said Rohit Malik, CEO of Clicbrics. “Real estate is one of the largest markets in India and a sector where innovation and technological disruption can make a meaningful impact. Clicbrics is poised to make the home transaction process simpler and more transparent for the average homebuyer.”

“The Indian real estate market has reached an inflection point. Now is an opportune time to introduce structural efficiencies into the home sales process, greater clarity for price estimates and remove obstacles that will accelerate the home closing process,” said Scott Forbes. “I’m excited about Clicbrics’ potential for growth as well as the talented team and the proprietary technology which differentiates Clicbrics from competing alternatives.”

Clicbrics had previously raised $3 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by Kavi Asset Management and Gluskin Sheff. At the time, the company was only operational in Delhi, Gurugram and Noida. It has since expanded pan-India and is planning to add more tier-2 cities to its roster. Clicbrics was founded by Rohit Malik in 2017.
