Hot on the heels of their announcement of a new service in its real estate vertical, Adevinta-owned LeBonCoin has announced the arrival of two new services in the used cars market via its affiliate site L’Argus. The group now offers guaranteed coverage of mechanical breakdowns and a vehicle history service in a bid to consolidate its position as a leader of the used cars market.
In partnership with French bank BNP Paribas Cardif, the new mechanical breakdown coverage guarantees cars with less than 200,000 km and covers parts and labor costs with a deductible of €100 per claim. Two formulas, the “garantie optimale” and the “garantie maximale” are will be offered for periods of three, six or 12 months.
The vehicle history service was launched in association with specialist French site Autoviza and was already available on certain listings this summer. It indicates whether vehicles are officially registered in the French vehicle fleet and if cars have undergone “atypical operations” such as importation, and also if vehicles have been used by a driving school or as demo vehicles. It also provides additional information on the number of previous owners and mileage.
The group has over 3 million listings under the vehicles category. After its acquisition of acquired L’Argus 2019, LeBonCoin has steadily added services to the vertical, such as secured online payment and estimation on listings.
