Allegro, the operator of leading b-to-c and c-to-c marketplaces in Poland, will let iPhone users increase the security of their purchases on Allegro using biometrics. The company is also about to start deliveries to its network of parcel lockers.

The possibility of authorizing the transaction with a fingerprint or face scan will appear on Allegro on Nov. 17. The feature will be available to Allegro mobile app users with Apple devices. They can activate it in their account settings.

Allegro is also about to start deliveries to its parcel lockers and has already updated its regulations on this, according to a report on news site Cashless.pl. The company launched four parcel delivery lockers in Warsaw and Poznań in June. The entire network of 1,500 parcel delivery lockers will start operating by the end of this year.

Allegro’s FY2020 net revenue was 4 billion Polish zlotys ($1.1 billion U.S.), up by 54.2% from 2.6 billion Polish zlotys in FY2019. Adjusted EBITDA was 1.8 billion Polish zlotys ($475.2 million U.S.) last year, which was 30.8% more than in FY2019.

As of the end of 2020, Allegro had around 13 million active buyers on its marketplace, an increase of almost 15% from 2019.
