Avito, the leading Russian horizontal, became the most-visited classified advertising site worldwide in November, with almost 280 million monthly visits, according to SimilarWeb. U.S.-based Craigslist, previously the leading site, had 277 million visitors, and France’s LeBonCoin, 139 million.

Avito also leads in the industry by number of listings: at end-December, the site had more than 86 million active listings. Craigslist does not publish its total number of listings, but it is almost certainly lower than Avito’s. No other site comes close. 

In October, the App Annie analytical service ranked the Avito mobile application No. 1 in Russia in the following categories: number of active users, total number of sessions, time spent using the application, and total number of downloads.
