OLX Brazil, a horizontal owned by Prosus and Adevinta, has named a new chief financial officer (CFO), according to a company post on LinkedIn at end-December.

The horizontal, which manages businesses divisions OLX (horizontal) and ZAP+ (real estate), including the former Grupo Zap holding, has appointed João Paulo Seibel de Faria to the role.

He replaces Joel Rennó Jr., who had held the position for five years. Rennó Jr. left OLX Brazil to fund medical software company Memed.

Faria is a senior executive with over 18 years of experience at Microsoft, where he was CFO of the company’s Chilean and Brazilian operations.

More recently, in 2019, he assumed the CFO/CSP role at Didi Chuxing, where he led the company’s Latin American operations, including 99 Tecnologia.

Faria is also a board member at several companies, including Afya Education, Hospital Care, and Assetz Expert Recruitment.

Forbes Brazil recently interviewed (interview in Portuguese) Faria about the importance of discipline and resilience in C-Suite positions.
