Paradox, the AI-based HR technology company, has raised $200 million in an investment that values the company at $1.5 billion.

The Series C round was led by Stripes, Sapphire and Thoma Bravo.

Founded in 2016 by Aaron Matos, who previously launched job board and website provider, the U.S.-based company operates Olivia, a chatbot that helps automate candidate screening, interview scheduling and onboarding. Its clients include Unilever, Nestle, McDonald’s, CVS Health and General Motors.

The company is based in Scottsdale, Arizona, with offices in Chicago, Baltimore, Tel Aviv, Singapore and Vietnam. In August, Paradox acquired Traitify, a personality assessment tool.

Olivia, the chatbot, is named after Matos’s wife.
