Allegro, the operator of leading b-to-c and c-to-c marketplaces in Poland, is about to start selling insurance products of Ergo Hestia. They will be tailored to the specific needs of buyers and sellers, according to a report on Polish news site Cashless.pl.
Allegro used to offer insurance products from PZU Group. Both companies started cooperating in 2018. However, at the moment there is no such offer available on Allegro as the marketplace is redesigning its insurance offer, Cashless reported.
At the moment it is not clear if Hestia will become an exclusive insurance partner of Allegro or it will just join PZU as another partner.
Allegro’s FY2020 net revenue was PLN 4 billion ($1.1 billion U.S.), up by 54.2% from PLN 2.6 billion in FY2019. Adjusted EBITDA was PLN 1.8 billion ($475 million U.S.) last year, which was 30.8% more than in FY2019.
As of the end of 2020, Allegro had around 13 million active buyers on its marketplace, an increase of almost 15% from 2019.
