Allegro, the operator of leading b-to-c and c-to-c marketplaces in Poland, has started to search for new CEO, who will replace Francois Nuyts. The current CEO plans to stay at the helm until as long as the end of 2022 to ensure the transition is seamless and all of Allegro’s projects are well on track.

Francois Nuyts joined Allegro as CEO in August 2018 to successfully lead the company through its initial public offering in October 2020. He will be replaced by a candidate from within or outside the group, Allegro said in its news release announcing the move.

Allegro’s FY2021 revenue was PLN 5.4 billion ($1.3 billion U.S.), up from PLN 4 billion in the same period last year. Adjusted EBITDA was PLN 2 billion ($480.8 million U.S.), up from PLN 1.8 billion in FY2020.

As of the end of 2021, Allegro had around 13.5 million active buyers on its marketplace, an increase of 3% from 2020.
