U.S. autos site TrueCar has named Jill Angel, a corporate executive with nearly 30 years’ experience in the media and logistics industries, as chief people officer. She’ll oversee human resources at the company, reporting directly to president and CEO Mike Darrow.

Angel was most recently EVP, People at Leaf Group, which owns media brands eHow and Livestrong.com and marketplace brands Saatchi Art and Society6. 

Before moving into HR at the Leaf Group in 2015, Angel had 20 years of experience in operations, finance, and customer service for various e-commerce platforms across a variety of industries. 

Angel served as VP of operations with Saatchi Art, later acquired by Leaf Group, and also held operations roles with Cocodot and Swirl, the hiring announcement stated. She held e-commerce roles with GSI Commerce Solutions and customer service and finance roles with DHL and Airborne Express. 

“I look forward to bringing my experience to TrueCar and working to bring operational solutions to the team,” Angel wrote in her hiring announcement. “I’m passionate about many aspects of HR, including compensation strategy, building relationships with key stakeholders and identifying talent, and I can’t wait to use my skills to develop and retain teams at TrueCar.”

TrueCar, a transaction-based listings site, posted its lowest quarterly revenue in six years for Q4 2021. It has pinned hopes for a rebound on an in-house digital-retail platform, TrueCar+, that’s now rolling out in Florida.
