Randstad France, part of global staffing group Randstad NV, has unveiled a plan to acquire France’s leading digital staffing service Side, to reinforce its market position in human resource deployment.

Without disclosing the terms, Randstad said the acquisition would pave the way for new services for existing and new customers.

Providing staffing services to more than 2,000 customers and serving 300,000 active candidates, Side, founded in 2016, is known as an online recruitment specialist like leading job sites HelloWork and Indeed France.

Founded in 1960 and listed on NYSE Euronext (RAND.AS), Randstad specializes in providing recruitment and HR services. It is operational in 38 markets.

“In a tightening labor market, this acquisition would allow us to offer customers and talent a new solution to those looking for a fully digital experience. However, it is our shared values and the belief in the crucial role of the ‘human touch’ underpinned by technology which makes me excited to welcome their great people to our team,” said Sander van’t Noordende, who assumed Randstad’s CEO position last December.

The acquisition plan emerged less than a month after Randstad Spain acquired online training company Avanzo.

Randstad, headquartered in Amsterdam, Netherlands, saw group revenue increase by 19% to €24.6 billion ($26.3 million) in 2021, while EBITA [earnings before interest, taxes and amortization) rose 58% to €1.1 billion.
