Italian IBuying firm Casavo has appointed Silvia Fortuny Elguer (LinkedIn profile) as its legal director for Spain.

Before joining Casavo, Fortuny Elguer was an internal legal advisor at property developer Neinor Homes and, prior to that, worked in the real estate department of law firm Ramón y Cajal Abogados. She has also worked for BuildingCenter, the real estate subsidiary of CaixaBank Group–one of the biggest banks in Spain.

Fortuny Elguer has two primary degrees from the Autonomous University of Madrid in environmental science and law. She also has two masters degrees in urban planning from CEU San Pablo University and in commercial law from business school CEF Financial Studies Center.

Founded in Milan during 2017, Casavo is a company for residential property that buys homes directly from sellers, promising to submit an offer within 48 hours and closing the deal in just a few days. It then renovates these properties before selling them.

To date, the company has raised more than €450 million ($473 million U.S.) in equity and debt and conducted more than 166,000 property appraisals through its website and completed more than 2,300 transactions worth more than €700 million. It currently operates in Milan, Rome, Turin, Florence, Bologna, Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Malaga and Lisbon, with plans to expand to a number of other European countries in the near future. At the end of 2021, Casavo had 328 employees and is planning to hire another 150 people in Spain and Portugal by the end of this year.
