HeadHunter, the leading recruitment vertical in Russia, is planning to acquire YouDo Web Technologies Limited (Cyprus), the country’s leading service classified platform. So far, HeadHunter has bought about 10% of YouDo and has the option to purchase another 46.9% of the company’s shares. In addition, it has agreed to buy the remaining 43.2% stake in YouDo from other stockholders. HeadHunter and YouDo have a partnership project to develop a department for the hiring of temporary staff.

Founded in 2012, YouDo is one of the largest Russia-based horizontal service classified platforms, matching freelance labor supply and demand in the c-to-c and b-to-b segments. The service helps find couriers, repairers, cleaners, trainers, tutors, beauty therapists, and similar vocational workers, and lists more than 1.5 million employees. It has nearly 9 million verified users and operates in all regions of Russia.

The acquisition of YouDo is in line with HeadHunter’s strategy to further expand beyond its core recruitment market and enter promising adjacent segments across the entire human resource value chain. This is expected to let the company access the rapidly developing gig-economy market and provide resources to accelerate YouDo’s expansion in the b-to-b segment.
