Finland-based media and marketplace operator Alma Media has appointed Heikki Huttunen as head of its Alma Consumer’s vehicles and mobility vertical and Minna Marjava-Kontio as manager of its housing vertical.
Heikki Huttunen (LinkedIn profile) was previously responsible for Alma Consumer’s housing vertical and comparison and sharing economy services. Earlier, he served as CEO of Alma Mediapartners.
Huttunen has replaced Jaakko Haapakangas (LinkedIn profile) who had led the vehicle vertical since April last year. Haapakangas was a long-time manager of Nettix’s auto-focused marketplaces, which were acquired by Alma Media in March last year.
Minna Marjava-Kontio (LinkedIn profile) previously served as business director for real estate site Etuovi.com. She has now the overall responsibility for all real estate-related sites and IT systems in Alma Consumer.
Alma Media has also informed that it merged Nettix with Alma Media Suomi, effective from the end of April.
The Alma Consumer segment includes the multi-channel news and lifestyle media Iltalehti, real estate vertical Etuovi.com and rental site Vuokraovi.com, the automotive marketplace Autotalli.com as well as the housing and car trade systems that serve companies operating in these fields. The segment also houses Alma Media’s comparison services, including Autojerry, Urakkamaailma and Etua.
Alma Media has also reported Nettix’s marketplaces as part of its Alma Consumer division since Q2 of FY2021.
Alma Media focuses on digital services and publishing. The company’s headquarters is in Finland, but it also operates in other Nordic countries, the Baltics, and Central Europe. It’s listed on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
