Cazoo has announced its first set of redundancies following its realignment plan set out last week.

It will close a vehicle preparation center in Ledbury, Worcestershire, which it acquired from SMH Fleet Solutions in September last year. The acquisition was in addition to its purchase of Smart Fleet Solutions, which gave Cazoo the ability to recondition over 100,000 used cars each year itself.

In an investor update last week, Cazoo confirmed it will shut two of its 10 customer centers as it focuses on its U.K. retail business and aims to save £200 million ($250 million U.S.) over the next 18 months and break even on its U.K. business by the end of 2023.

The Ledbury Reporter quotes a Cazoo spokesperson saying Cazoo “no longer currently require the capacity of all 10 vehicle preparation sites we have in the UK”.
