Roy Perticucci has been appointed as new CEO of Allegro, the operator of leading b-to-c and c-to-c marketplaces in Poland. He will take over from current CEO Francois Nuyts in September.

Perticucci (Linkedin profile) joined Allegro from Marley Spoon, where he worked as non-executive director since 2021. Between 2013 and 2020 he headed up the European Operations/Customer Fulfillment division of Amazon and for a short while simultaneously held the same responsibility for North America. His experience also includes working in various management positions for companies such as Tesco, Ahold, and Dixons Stores Group.

The new CEO of Allegro will be responsible for boosting the marketplace’s presence across Central Europe and beyond, the company said in a news release announcing the appointment.

Allegro’s FY2021 revenue was PLN 5.4 billion ($1.3 billion U.S.), up from PLN 4 billion in the same period last year. Adjusted EBITDA was PLN 2 billion ($480.8 million U.S.), up from PLN 1.8 billion in FY2020.

At the end of FY2021, Allegro had around 13.5 million active buyers on its marketplace, an increase of 3% from FY2020.
