Saviour Calleja, former GM of finance at REA Group

Saviour Calleja, the GM of finance at Australia-based REA Group, has left the company after eight years.

Calleja first joined REA Group as a commercial manager for residential business in 2014. He was later promoted to senior commercial manager, before taking on a two-year post as the regional finance director in Malaysia for REA Group’s Asia business, IProperty.

REA Group has not announced a replacement.

After two years, Calleja returned to Australia in 2020 as the GM of finance, based in Melbourne. In a post on LinkedIn, Calleja said he would be taking a “mini career sabbatical” to spend time with his family.

Prior to REA Group, he was a business analysis manager at online marketplace Catch. He also held finance management roles at companies such as Schweppes Australia and TJX Europe.

“Reflecting on my time, it’s been an extremely rewarding and amazing journey [to be] part of the significant growth of REA across a number of lines of businesses and multiple regions — including the opportunity to live in Malaysia,” he wrote on LinkedIn.

“This week saw me commence a new life chapter as a dad of three and the start of a mini career sabbatical. I’m looking forward to spending more time with my family and [having] personal time over the coming months, before exploring new opportunities later this year.”
